INGREDIENTS Low alkali, borosilicate glass fibre with an organic polymer size ACUTE INGESTION May cause gastro-intestinal disturbance, symptoms may include irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea. EYE Slightly to moderately irritating. Abrasive action may cause damage to the outer surface of the eye. SKIN Slightly to moderately irritating. May cause irritation and inflammation due to mechanical abrasive action of sharp, broken fibre ends. INHALATION Dust may cause respiratory tract irritation. Pre-existing respiratory problems may be aggravated by exposure, specifically bronchial hyperactivity and chronic bronchial or lung disease. CHRONIC Inhalation of dust and ingestion are the routes of entry into the body. Prolonged or repeated inhalation of respirable size particles may cause inflammation of thelung lrading to chest pain, difficult breathing, coughing and possible fibrotic change in the lungs (pneunoconiosis). ADVICE TO DOCTOR Treat symptomatically. FIRST AID PROCEDURES INGESTION Rinse mouth out with water ensuring that mouth wash is not swallowed. Give about 250mL (2 glasses) of water to drink. DO NOT attempt to induce vomiting. Seek medical attention. EYE Hold eyelids open and rinse the eye continuously with a gentle stream of clean running water for at least fifteen minutes. Seek medical attention. Do not rub eyes. SKIN Remove contaminated clothing and wash off thoroughly with soap and water. Use water alone if soap is unavailable. Do not rub or scratch exposed skin. Seek medical attention if any irritation or soreness of the skin persists or develops later. Launder affected clothing before re-use. INHALATION If excessive exposure to dust from the product did occur, remove to fresh air. Keep warm and at rest. Seek medical attention if any symptoms persist. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE ENGINEERING CONTROL General (mechanical) ventilation may be sufficient for minor handling. Dust control / extraction ventilation may be necessary for any operation where the product is handled in such a way that dust is generated. PERSONAL PROTECTION Safety goggles, rubber or PVC gloves, overalls and boots. A half face respirator with particulate filter is required if dust from the product is entering the workplace atmosphere. Wash work clothing separately and thoroughly rinse washing machine after use. FLAMMABILITY Non-combustible EXPOSURE STANDARDS Borosilicate glass fibre: 0.5fibres/mL as ceramic fibres. STORAGE
Transport is not regulated. General storage is adequate. Protect containers against physical damage. SPILLS & DISPOSAL SPILLS: Wear protective equipment as specified for handling. Damp down to avoid generating dusts. Vacuum or sweep up any broken material and dispose to approved land-fill. DISPOSAL: If possible, return to supplier. Otherwise, dispose to approved land-fill.
